What Is A Cubic Zirconia (CZ)?

10.22.07

A cubic zirconia, also known as a CZ,  is a synthetic precious stone which means that it is produced in a laboratory but still maintains the same physical and chemical characteristics as a genuine stone.  Because the synthetic stones are man-made they abundant, which ultimately makes them much less expensive.  Bottom line is that a CZ is durable, doesn’t cost much and has a close visual likeness to a diamond.  So, wear that gorgeous CZ ring with ATTITUDE.  Is it real?  Only you will know.

What Is Rhodium Plating?

10.16.07

Many times people will shy away from a piece of costume jewelry or designer inspired jewelry when they find out it is coated with a layer of  rhodium.   Rhodium is actually a shiny, highly reflective, silver metal with a finish like Mercury and is consistently used on white gold to  restore the shine. Sterling silver is actually very soft but the rhodium finish is very strong  and  mimics the brilliant finish of freshly polished silver.  It also protects the piece from natural tarnish.   So, purchasing a piece of jewelry coated with a layer of Rhodium as a finishing touch provides  shine for a longer time plus it prevents scratches and tarnishing.

Stack Those Bracelets

10.03.07

Stacking bracelets of various styles and colors is nothing new.  The women of Rome wore bracelets made of twisted coil with lion head ends paired with knot bracelets.  The Greek women wore bracelets with fleeing dogs combined with cuffs designed in palmetto or berry patterns.  Stacking several bangles of different designs, a cuff with a bangle, or perhaps two cuffs turned opposite ways is a great way to spice up any outfit.  So come one girls - start stacking!
